What is a mentor?

Mentors are positive role models; more of a sibling or friend rather than parent or teacher. They can be a person to talk to about things they wouldn’t normally talk with parents about.

Mentors can be a:

  • listener
  • friend
  • supporter to be there in times of trouble
  • great adult resource

How is a student Nominated?

First and foremost, we believe that EVERY student can benefit from an adult mentor.

We are limited in our number of volunteers which means our school counselors, teachers, and other school officials nominate those who will benefit the most from this program.

It is an amazing program that offers a unique and exciting opportunity for the student!

Mentor’s Responsibility

What do we ask of our mentors?

  • A minimum of a one-year commitment to mentoring with the hopes that the mentor will follow the student through graduation
  • 30-60 minutes 1 time a week to meet with your student
  • Attend educational training sessions
  • Complete monthly meeting logs
  • Staying in contact with your school coordinator

How Can You Help?

Think about becoming a volunteer!

Do you have 30-60 minutes a week?

Do you want to make a difference in a child’s life?

If the answer is yes, then please contact the mentor coordinator in your preferred district:
